🔐 How the lock works

Your vault has two padlocks. The family padlock needs any 2 of your 3 chosen people turning their keys together. The second padlock's key stays with My Diary Vault and is turned only after the release process proves you are gone. Nobody — not one family member, not even us — can open your vault alone.

Can My Diary Vault read my vault? No. Everything is locked inside your phone or browser before it reaches us. We store only scrambled data. Not even we can open your vault — that's math, not a promise.

How will my family ever open it? If you stop checking in for the period you chose (3, 6 or 12 months), we first try to reach you. Then your people are invited to open it together — and the first thing they will see is your video message.
